Name the Kyoto Station side before sending the group outside

Kyoto Station has a northern Central Exit and a southern Hachijo Exit. The official Kyoto station guide also warns that the Shinkansen Central Exit is different from the Central Exit used by local train lines. A message saying “meet outside the central exit” can therefore leave people on the wrong side of the station.

Give the arriving train and ask for a named pedestrian meeting point and a separately confirmed vehicle boarding location. Allow for the group to leave the platform, collect its belongings and assemble before boarding. If arriving from an airport by rail, state that the booking begins at Kyoto Station rather than at the airport. For school and education visits, nominate the supervising contact and identify any step-free route needs.

Build temple visits around coach parking availability

Kyoto City publishes a tourist-coach parking list linked to its digital map and asks operators to check facilities in advance, especially in the busy spring and autumn seasons. It says temple and shrine coach parks are for their visitors, not general-purpose vehicle storage. The city also provides specific traffic information for the Fushimi Inari area.

For a Kyoto sightseeing itinerary, supply the actual temples or attractions, booked times and intended walking sections. Ask the operator to confirm the applicable parking or reservation arrangements before fixing the route. Separate the short passenger stop from a longer visit and agree where the coach will return. If the next stage is Osaka, include the final address and whether bags remain aboard rather than assuming a city tour includes that onward transfer.

Airport references for Kyoto

These airport references are ordered by their approximate straight-line distance from the Kyoto map reference. Road journeys can be longer and may involve different access arrangements; choose your actual arrival airport when requesting a quote.

UKB

Kobe Airport

KIX

For flight arrivals, compare airport coach and minibus transfers and include the booked airport, flight number and luggage in your enquiry.

Prepare your Kyoto journey brief

  1. Arrival: If your flight uses Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM) or Kobe Airport (UKB), give the airport on your ticket, flight number and arrival date. Add the full Kyoto hotel or venue address; these airport references do not establish a road route or a collection point.
  2. An airport arrival with several stops: If your flight is booked at Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM), use Higashiosaka arrival planning and Osaka arrival planning for the separate hotel or venue addresses. Say whether the enquiry covers one continuous itinerary or individual local transfers, with passengers and bags for each leg.
  3. Group and return: Include passengers, luggage and mobility needs. Put any return date, pickup time and departure flight or train in the message field.

Planning your Kyoto journey

How do ITM and UKB compare for a Kyoto transfer?

Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM) is about 39 km from the Kyoto map reference in a straight line; Kobe Airport (UKB) is about 65 km. These figures are not road distances. Base the enquiry on the booked flight and actual destination address; road access and collection arrangements are checked separately.

Can one enquiry cover groups landing at different airports near Kyoto?

List each airport, flight number, arrival time and passenger count separately. If one group lands at ITM and another at UKB, say whether they need separate vehicles or whether you want a combined itinerary assessed. Do not assume a single vehicle can meet both schedules.

What happens if the destination after landing is Higashiosaka?

Use Higashiosaka as the actual destination rather than entering only Kyoto as the wider area. Add the hotel or venue address and luggage count so the quote covers the requested end point.

How do the Higashiosaka and Osaka stops compare from Kyoto?

From the Kyoto geographic reference, Higashiosaka is approximately 42.4 km away in a straight line and Osaka is 43.1 km away. A further destination reference is Nishinomiya, approximately 51.3 km from Kyoto. The first two distances are close, so they give little basis for choosing the visit order. Use your actual addresses and appointment times. These are map measurements, not driving distances; a feasible route and vehicle allocation must be assessed in the quotation.

Is “Kyoto Station Central Exit” a clear enough meeting instruction?

It needs more detail. The official guide distinguishes the northern Central Exit from the Shinkansen Central Exit, which leads towards the southern Hachijo side. Agree a precise pedestrian meeting point and the operator’s permitted boarding location.

Choose transport for your Kyoto itinerary

Compare coach hire with a driver with minibus hire for a smaller group. Passenger numbers, bags and collection access determine the suitable option; confirm availability and inclusions for your dates.

For flight arrivals, use the group airport pickup guide to set out the terminal, meeting point and waiting arrangements. For the price discussion, the coach hire cost guide explains questions about waiting time, parking and additional stops.
