Barcelona Airport: specify the terminal and transfer type
Aena’s Barcelona-El Prat bus information lists different services for Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, as well as separate categories for occasional buses and hotel coach transfers. Specify the terminal and the type of transfer you have arranged. A public airport-bus stop should not be used as the assumed meeting point for a privately booked coach.
For passengers arriving on several flights, give the flight numbers and terminal details individually. Ask whether collection from each terminal or a coordinated meeting at one agreed point is the better option for the group and its luggage. Any change of terminal needs to be planned before passengers leave arrivals, with mobility requirements and the group leader’s contact details included.
If the transfer continues to a cruise ship or an exhibition, add the ship’s assigned terminal or the event’s venue entrance rather than only “port” or “Fira”. Barcelona Zona Bus reservations and group arrivals
Arrange the permit and stop bookings in advance
Barcelona’s Zona Bus system manages tourist-coach stopping and parking. Its current guidance requires a daily permit to use its spaces, plus reservations for designated special areas. The named areas include Sagrada Família, Park Güell and Ciutat Vella. Give your planned visit times before transport is finalised so the required stop reservations can be checked. A Zona Bus permit does not itself authorise entry to the low-emissions zone.
Match Park Güell transport to the visit booking
Access to the Park Güell parking platform requires park tickets, and the parking reservation process uses the visit booking reference. Share the relevant reservation details with the person arranging your coach movements. For a multi-stop day, list the outbound and return pickups separately, together with the group’s walking and boarding requirements. Do not treat a short-stop reservation as parking for the entire visit.
Example: Sagrada Família and Park Güell on one day
Start with the attraction reservations, then request transport between the hotel and each visit. Include the group’s required arrival time and the length of each visit. Ask for stop availability and the route order to be checked before promising the group a tightly timed programme. Prepare your Barcelona journey brief
- Pickup: Give the full collection address and meeting point in Barcelona. For a flight or train arrival, use the airport or station printed on the ticket and the arrival details.
- Check the complete route between stops: The geographic references put Badalona (about 10 km) and Sabadell (about 18 km) from Barcelona in a straight line. Use those destination guides to collect the actual entrances and required arrival times. Road distance, access and any non-road connection need checking against the complete itinerary, rather than these map measurements.
- Group and return: Include passengers, luggage and mobility needs. Put any return date, pickup time and departure flight or train in the message field.

Cruise transfers start with the ship’s assigned terminal
The Port of Barcelona passenger guide separates cruise and ferry information and provides terminal locations and current ship calls. Use the cruise line’s terminal confirmation and ship name when requesting transport; a general port address or ferry terminal is not a sufficient meeting instruction.
For Barcelona cruise transfers, give the expected passenger release time, luggage count and the flight or hotel that follows. Ask where the coach may collect and how the group leader will reach the driver when everyone is ready. If sightseeing is requested before an afternoon flight, include attraction reservations and a confirmed luggage arrangement; a ship’s arrival time is not the same as a guaranteed disembarkation time.
Keep Gran Via and Montjuïc event journeys separate
Fira de Barcelona operates distinct Gran Via and Montjuïc venues. Its visitor transport guidance gives different approaches for each, with Gran Via linked to the airport by metro and Montjuïc in the city centre. Confirm the site and entrance printed on your event booking before planning the hotel shuttle.
Send the hall, organiser’s approved drop-off, registration time and any mobility needs. For delegates attending meetings in more than one building, list each movement independently rather than assuming the vehicle remains nearby. If some passengers use public transport, agree one reunion point for the evening return so the driver is not searching across different Fira sites.

How do BCN and GRO compare for a Barcelona transfer?
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) is about 12 km from the Barcelona map reference in a straight line; Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is about 76 km. These figures are not road distances. Base the enquiry on the booked flight and actual destination address; road access and collection arrangements are checked separately.
Can one enquiry cover groups landing at different airports near Barcelona?
List each airport, flight number, arrival time and passenger count separately. If one group lands at BCN and another at GRO, say whether they need separate vehicles or whether you want a combined itinerary assessed. Do not assume a single vehicle can meet both schedules.
What happens if the destination after landing is Badalona?
Use Badalona as the actual destination rather than entering only Barcelona as the wider area. Add the hotel or venue address and luggage count so the quote covers the requested end point.
Does a Barcelona minibus avoid the Zona Bus requirements?
A smaller vehicle is not an automatic exemption. Zona Bus says vehicles with nine or more seats, including the driver, need a permit when using its spaces, with reservations where required. Confirm the requirements for the assigned vehicle and planned stops.
Is “Fira Barcelona” enough information for an event coach quotation?
Please include the specific venue—such as Gran Via or Montjuïc—plus the event, hall and entrance instructions. The sites have different approaches, and the permitted coach stop must be confirmed for your event.
