RAI transfers: use the hall entrance on the event booking
RAI Amsterdam’s official route page provides a floor plan showing hall numbers, entrances and parking garages. Put the event name, hall and visitor entrance in your enquiry. “RAI Amsterdam” alone can leave delegates at the wrong side of the complex, particularly when different events use separate entrances. Share the organiser’s latest arrival instructions with the driver as well as the hotel list.
A garage shown on the venue map is not automatically a suitable coach waiting place. Ask for the passenger set-down, the driver’s waiting location and the return meeting point to be confirmed separately. For delegates arriving at Schiphol on several flights, compare a single collection after everyone is ready with separate arrival transfers; include luggage and registration deadlines in both options.

Amsterdam centre access and permitted coach stops
Check the 7.5-tonne restriction before choosing a pickup
Amsterdam requires an exemption for coaches over 7.5 tonnes entering the centre within the S100, with a specified permitted corridor along Weesperstraat, Valkenburgerstraat and Kattenburgerstraat. The city also identifies passenger stops on the edge of the centre. A central hotel address alone is not confirmation that a full-size coach can reach its door.
Use a permitted collection point and keep the group ready
The city identifies De Ruijterkade Oost as a coach collection area and specifies a maximum stop of fifteen minutes there. For a canal or river-cruise connection, agree the permitted stop and the group’s meeting time before arranging the transfer. Keep boarding separate from any longer wait, and ask for an accessible walking route where required.
Example: Schiphol arrival and a central hotel
Send the hotel’s full address with the flight number and bags. Ask whether the coach can reach the hotel under the applicable access rules or whether the group needs an agreed alternative stop. Include the acceptable walking distance and any mobility needs. This is an example transport brief, not confirmation that an exemption will be available.

Schiphol coach collection and waiting
Schiphol directs touring coaches to Koepelstraat for passenger collection and drop-off, with signs for “Touring coaches”. Agree a meeting point after baggage collection and give the group leader a way to contact the driver. The airport identifies P41 for longer coach waits; it is separate from the passenger boarding point.

Choose an Amsterdam vehicle around the full group
Compare coach hire with a driver with minibus hire using both passenger numbers and luggage. Tell us about wheelchairs, folded equipment and the maximum walk your group can manage. A smaller vehicle does not automatically guarantee access to a particular street: the actual vehicle and collection point still need checking. Rijksmuseum visits start with the walk from the coach
The Rijksmuseum’s entrances sit in the pedestrian and cycle passage beneath the building; a vehicle cannot drive to the entrance itself. Its accessibility guidance identifies both stairs and a lift into the Atrium. Share this final walking stage with the group before choosing transport, especially if passengers use wheelchairs, walking aids or pushchairs.
The museum also describes a nearby kiss-and-ride point, but that is not confirmation that your assigned coach may use it. Ask the operator to agree a permitted coach stop under Amsterdam’s access rules and check the route from that stop to the appropriate museum entrance. Set the return meeting point separately, with enough time for everyone to leave the galleries and assemble.
Keep suitcases out of the museum programme
The Rijksmuseum cloakroom accepts items such as daypacks but has no facilities for travel luggage or large bags. An airport arrival followed immediately by the museum therefore needs a confirmed luggage plan before the group sets off.
