Check DXB or DWC before arranging a Dubai airport transfer

Dubai Airports operates two different airports: Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central–Al Maktoum International (DWC). Copy the airport code from every passenger’s booking, as well as the terminal where shown. A request that says only “Dubai Airport” leaves an important part of the route unresolved.

For a party arriving at both airports, ask for separate transfer options before deciding to gather everyone at one location. Give the hotel’s full address and named entrance, particularly if the hotel has a separate conference or group entrance. Explain whether passengers go directly to an event or first drop bags at the hotel; that decision affects the route and the amount of time the vehicle is required.

An onward flight from the other airport needs a separately assessed road transfer and the airline’s check-in deadline. Do not treat it as an internal terminal connection or assume baggage moves automatically. The Dubai airport group arrival guide helps collect flight and terminal details, while the quote should confirm luggage capacity, waiting terms and the collection instructions for the actual airport.

DXB terminal details matter as much as the airport name

Dubai Airports lists DXB Terminals 1, 2 and 3 separately from Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). Its airline directory includes carriers with more than one terminal or airport entry. Use the flight booking and current flight information rather than choosing a meeting point from the airline name alone.

For your Dubai airport transfer, include the flight number, arrival date, terminal, luggage and a reachable group leader. Ask for the approved vehicle boarding point and the walk from arrivals to be confirmed. An airside flight connection and a landside coach transfer are different arrangements.

Give Dubai hotel and event entrances in full

Hotels and venues can have several named buildings and access points. Include the property address and the organiser’s entrance instructions, especially if bags or exhibition equipment travel with the group. For journeys continuing to Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, provide the complete onward address and finish time in the UAE transport request.

Dubai World Trade Centre and Expo City are different event destinations

Dubai World Trade Centre publishes directions for its Sheikh Zayed Road location. Dubai Exhibition Centre is at Expo City. Check the location on the current event confirmation; an exhibition’s name alone is not a reliable destination for the transport request.

Include the building, hall and event-approved collection area alongside the hotel address. Tell the operator whether delegates need to arrive for registration, a speaker briefing or the public opening. Request the final route and pickup time only after the correct venue is established. A transfer quoted to one exhibition site should not be assumed to cover the other.

Make the hall and return meeting point part of the booking

DWTC’s venue explorer shows several hall groups, including the Sheikh Saeed and Za’abeel halls. Use the organiser’s entrance instructions to choose an arrival and reunion point that suits the group, especially when someone needs a shorter walk. General parking information does not establish an approved coach bay.

For Dubai event transport, list each hotel with its passenger count and luggage or display cases. Identify early departures and the main return after the event as separate movements. If the programme ends with dinner or continues to Abu Dhabi, add that destination before requesting the quotation so vehicle availability, waiting and driver time can be assessed together.

Prepare your Dubai journey brief

  1. Arrival: If your flight uses Dubai International Airport (DXB) or Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), give the airport on your ticket, flight number and arrival date. Add the full Dubai hotel or venue address; these airport references do not establish a road route or a collection point.
  2. An airport arrival with several stops: If your flight is booked at Dubai International Airport (DXB), use Jebel Ali arrival planning and Sharjah arrival planning for the separate hotel or venue addresses. Say whether the enquiry covers one continuous itinerary or individual local transfers, with passengers and bags for each leg.
  3. Group and return: Include passengers, luggage and mobility needs. Put any return date, pickup time and departure flight or train in the message field.

Your Dubai transport questions

Can we use only the airline name to choose a Dubai pickup terminal?

No. Dubai Airports lists some airlines across more than one terminal or airport. Use the actual flight details and confirm DXB Terminal 1, 2 or 3, or DWC, before arranging collection.

Is Dubai World Central the same collection as Dubai International?

No. DWC and DXB are separate airports. Supply the code and terminal from the ticket, including separate details for the return flight.

How do DXB and DWC compare for a Dubai transfer?

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is about 20 km from the Dubai map reference in a straight line; Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) is about 25 km. These figures are not road distances. Base the enquiry on the booked flight and actual destination address; road access and collection arrangements are checked separately.

Can one enquiry cover groups landing at different airports near Dubai?

List each airport, flight number, arrival time and passenger count separately. If one group lands at DXB and another at DWC, say whether they need separate vehicles or whether you want a combined itinerary assessed. Do not assume a single vehicle can meet both schedules.

What happens if the destination after landing is Jebel Ali?

Use Jebel Ali as the actual destination rather than entering only Dubai as the wider area. Add the hotel or venue address and luggage count so the quote covers the requested end point.

How do the Jebel Ali and Sharjah stops compare from Dubai?

From the Dubai geographic reference, Jebel Ali is approximately 21.9 km away in a straight line and Sharjah is 30.4 km away. Jebel Ali is listed in Dubai; Sharjah is listed in Sharjah. Compare the time needed at each visit before choosing the pickup order. These are map measurements, not driving distances; a feasible route and vehicle allocation must be assessed in the quotation.

Should I enter Dubai World Trade Centre or Dubai Exhibition Centre in the enquiry?

Use the exact venue on the event confirmation. Dubai World Trade Centre’s main venue is on Sheikh Zayed Road, while Dubai Exhibition Centre is at Expo City. Include the hall and organiser’s entrance instructions.

Choose transport for your Dubai itinerary

Compare coach hire with a driver with minibus hire for a smaller group. Passenger numbers, bags and collection access determine the suitable option; confirm availability and inclusions for your dates.

For flight arrivals, use the group airport pickup guide to set out the terminal, meeting point and waiting arrangements. For the price discussion, the coach hire cost guide explains questions about waiting time, parking and additional stops.

Connect the journey details

For budgeting, compare the route, dates and included services in the actual quotation. Coach & Bus Hire Costs: How to Plan Your Budget.

For the rest of the itinerary, see United Arab Emirates transport planning and airport transfers, corporate transport. Availability and the vehicle specification are confirmed in your quotation.

Plan the next part of your journey

For a Dubai itinerary that includes Al Ain, distinguish the city visit from your Dubai airport and hotel transfers. Provide the attraction or venue entrances, the desired time at each visit and the required return to Dubai or new overnight address.
