Auschwitz-Birkenau visits need a confirmed admission plan

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial’s official visiting page asks visitors to reserve entry and states that organised groups must engage a Memorial guide. It also advises arrival at least thirty minutes before the tour for security checks. Use the confirmed visit time when requesting transport from Kraków; securing a vehicle does not secure admission or a guide.

Give the operator the official arrival instructions and the programme covering Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Ask how any movement between the two sites fits the booking, rather than assuming every quotation includes the same waiting and transfer arrangements. Share the visit duration from your confirmation and keep the return pickup separate from the guided tour’s advertised end.

The Memorial limits the size of bags visitors may bring inside. If the group arrives with suitcases or school equipment, agree storage with the transport provider before travelling. Avoid scheduling a close airport connection immediately after the visit without checking the complete timetable. For other stages in the country, include them in the same Poland group transport request.

Allow for the walk between Kraków Airport’s terminal and railway station

Kraków Airport’s railway station sits behind the multi-storey car park and connects to the passenger terminal by a covered footbridge. The airport rail route runs through Kraków Główny towards Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia. This can be useful for independent arrivals, but the station and terminal are separate meeting environments.

For a group airport collection, tell the operator whether everyone will assemble inside Arrivals or arrive separately by rail. For a later Wieliczka visit, provide the attraction booking and entrance instructions instead of treating the railway stop name as a coach drop-off location.

Kraków tourist stops are short passenger handovers

Kraków’s official tourist-coach guidance describes marked K+R BUS stops for organised groups with a maximum ten-minute stop. These are passenger boarding and alighting arrangements, not places to leave the vehicle throughout a walking tour. Ask the operator to check the current location, signs and conditions for the particular vehicle and date.

Choose the permitted stop around the group’s actual attraction entrance, walking needs and guide meeting point. Assemble the party before calling the vehicle for collection so bags and headcounts can be handled within the stopping window. For school transport, give the age range and supervision plan as well as the passenger count.

A Wieliczka visit needs its own entrance and luggage plan

The salt mine’s organised-group information identifies the Daniłowicz Shaft as the Tourist Route assembly point and requires advance tickets. It limits the size of bags taken underground and says adapted visits for people with limited mobility need advance arrangements. Confirm the exact route and booking rather than using only “salt mine” as the destination.

Allow time for the walk from the agreed coach stop and for meeting the guide before admission. Agree how larger bags are handled, particularly if the visit follows an airport arrival, and whether the vehicle waits or returns. Send the expected exit and collection details with the excursion request; a mine ticket does not include a private coach or guarantee a parking space.

Prepare your Krakow journey brief

  1. Arrival: If your flight uses Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK) or Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport (KTW), give the airport on your ticket, flight number and arrival date. Add the full Krakow hotel or venue address; these airport references do not establish a road route or a collection point.
  2. An airport arrival with several stops: If your flight is booked at Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK), use Sosnowiec arrival planning and Katowice arrival planning for the separate hotel or venue addresses. Say whether the enquiry covers one continuous itinerary or individual local transfers, with passengers and bags for each leg.
  3. Group and return: Include passengers, luggage and mobility needs. Put any return date, pickup time and departure flight or train in the message field.

Your Krakow transport questions

Where is the railway station at Kraków Airport?

It is behind the multi-storey car park, connected to the terminal by a covered footbridge. Agree whether the group’s meeting point is at the terminal or railway station before issuing collection instructions.

How do KRK and KTW compare for a Krakow transfer?

Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK) is about 11 km from the Krakow map reference in a straight line; Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport (KTW) is about 76 km. These figures are not road distances. Base the enquiry on the booked flight and actual destination address; road access and collection arrangements are checked separately.

Can one enquiry cover groups landing at different airports near Krakow?

List each airport, flight number, arrival time and passenger count separately. If one group lands at KRK and another at KTW, say whether they need separate vehicles or whether you want a combined itinerary assessed. Do not assume a single vehicle can meet both schedules.

What happens if the destination after landing is Sosnowiec?

Use Sosnowiec as the actual destination rather than entering only Krakow as the wider area. Add the hotel or venue address and luggage count so the quote covers the requested end point.

How do the Sosnowiec and Katowice stops compare from Krakow?

From the Krakow geographic reference, Sosnowiec is approximately 64.4 km away in a straight line and Katowice is 68.8 km away. A further destination reference is Tychy, approximately 69.7 km from Krakow. The first two distances are close, so they give little basis for choosing the visit order. Use your actual addresses and appointment times. These are map measurements, not driving distances; a feasible route and vehicle allocation must be assessed in the quotation.

Can the coach wait at a Kraków K+R BUS stop during our tour?

Those marked tourist stops are for short passenger handovers, with a maximum ten-minute stop in the city guidance. The operator needs a separate permitted waiting arrangement for the duration of the visit.

Choose transport for your Krakow itinerary

Compare coach hire with a driver with minibus hire for a smaller group. Passenger numbers, bags and collection access determine the suitable option; confirm availability and inclusions for your dates.

For flight arrivals, use the group airport pickup guide to set out the terminal, meeting point and waiting arrangements. For the price discussion, the coach hire cost guide explains questions about waiting time, parking and additional stops.

Connect the journey details

For an educational visit, include accompanying adults, group entry times and the return collection instructions. School Trip Coach Hire: A Transport Planning Checklist.

For the rest of the itinerary, see Poland transport planning and airport transfers, school transport. Availability and the vehicle specification are confirmed in your quotation.

Plan the next part of your journey

For a Poland itinerary continuing from Kraków to Kielce, give the Kielce venue or accommodation address and any intermediate visits. Specify whether the vehicle remains available after arrival or finishes with that drop-off.
