Transport choices in Greece
Athens Airport has metro, suburban-rail and bus connections, including links useful for reaching the city and Piraeus. Mainland journeys and island transfers
Name the actual airport or port and the island, if applicable. Provide the sailing or flight time, correct terminal and final accommodation. An Athens transfer should not be assumed to include transport on Crete, Rhodes or another island. For a private mainland tour, list overnight bases and timed visits separately from the arrival day.

Name the ferry port, vessel and boarding point
Athens Airport describes different public connections for Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio. Those ports are not interchangeable, and even a journey into Piraeus still needs the particular ferry or cruise boarding point. Copy the port and vessel details from the booking before comparing an airport-to-port transfer with rail or scheduled bus travel.
For a mainland-and-island itinerary, state whether passengers travel on the sailing with their bags or whether a vehicle is intended to cross too. A private road quotation should identify the transport on each side, the check-in requirement and responsibility for the ferry booking. Keep the flight and sailing connection open to feasibility assessment rather than assuming that a published airport journey time guarantees embarkation.
Coordinate the road transfer with the sailing
Give the vessel or flight booking, departure port or airport, terminal and final accommodation on each island. State whether the group travels with all luggage or leaves some at a mainland hotel. A late change to the sea connection may also require the road schedule to change.
Use arrival-transfer guidance to prepare flight details and minibus guidance for smaller local groups. Confirm vehicles on each side of the crossing and which waiting, ferry and parking arrangements are included.
Keep mainland touring and island transfers distinct
Northern and central mainland stops
Use Edessa and Alexandroupoli for their individual northern stays, with the arrival location and hotel listed for each. Put the order of visits and overnight accommodation into the wider request before assuming the stops fit one continuous vehicle duty.
Peloponnese and western mainland
For Kalamata, Tripoli or Patras, describe the actual road itinerary and any fixed arrival or departure commitment. If a port is involved, include the passenger terminal and sailing booking separately. The local guides are a place to start the city brief; they are not confirmation of a ferry-inclusive package.
Corfu is an island leg
Plan Corfu as an island stay with its own airport or ferry arrival and hotel transfers. A programme that also visits mainland Greece must identify the sea or air connection and whether vehicles are required at both ends. Do not treat Corfu as an ordinary mainland road stop.
