Include JFK, LaGuardia or Newark in the arrival brief

A New York arrival may use John F. Kennedy International (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA) or Newark Liberty (EWR). The Port Authority’s airport information identifies these as distinct commercial airports. Do not choose a collection point from the nearest map marker: use the booked airport, terminal and flight, and state the exact borough or New Jersey destination.

For a group airport transfer, list each arriving party, bags and mobility requirements. If the group splits between airports, request separate movements or an assessed combined plan. Include any same-day meeting or timed admission so the operator can judge whether the arrival schedule leaves a practical buffer, without treating a map distance as a transfer-time promise.

Plan Manhattan passenger stops separately from coach parking

New York City DOT publishes specific charter-bus routes and stop guidance. It warns that Manhattan bus parking is limited and that passenger loading zones are not waiting areas. A route suitable for a car can also be unsuitable for a coach; for example, the Brooklyn Bridge is listed among prohibited roadways.

Send the hotel or venue entrance and appointment time with your business-group transport enquiry. Ask for an approved set-down, an off-site waiting plan where needed and a clear return meeting location. For theatre or museum visits, allow for the group to walk and assemble before the vehicle returns. Seasonal restrictions and posted signs must be checked for the actual date; this guide does not reserve a kerbside space.

Prepare your New York City journey brief

  1. Arrival: If your flight uses LaGuardia Airport (LGA) or Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), give the airport on your ticket, flight number and arrival date. Add the full New York City hotel or venue address; these airport references do not establish a road route or a collection point.
  2. An airport arrival with several stops: If your flight is booked at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), use Jersey City arrival planning and Newark arrival planning for the separate hotel or venue addresses. Say whether the enquiry covers one continuous itinerary or individual local transfers, with passengers and bags for each leg.
  3. Group and return: Include passengers, luggage and mobility needs. Put any return date, pickup time and departure flight or train in the message field.

Planning your New York City journey

How do LGA and EWR compare for a New York City transfer?

LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is about 13 km from the New York City map reference in a straight line; Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is about 14 km. These figures are not road distances. Base the enquiry on the booked flight and actual destination address; road access and collection arrangements are checked separately.

Can one enquiry cover groups landing at different airports near New York City?

List each airport, flight number, arrival time and passenger count separately. If one group lands at LGA and another at EWR, say whether they need separate vehicles or whether you want a combined itinerary assessed. Do not assume a single vehicle can meet both schedules.

What happens if the destination after landing is Jersey City?

Use Jersey City as the actual destination rather than entering only New York City as the wider area. Add the hotel or venue address and luggage count so the quote covers the requested end point.

How do the Jersey City and Newark stops compare from New York City?

From the New York City geographic reference, Jersey City is approximately 6.2 km away in a straight line and Newark is 14.2 km away. A further destination reference is Philadelphia, approximately 129.6 km from New York City. Compare the time needed at each visit before choosing the pickup order. These are map measurements, not driving distances; a feasible route and vehicle allocation must be assessed in the quotation.

Can a charter bus wait at our Manhattan drop-off point?

Not automatically. NYC DOT distinguishes passenger loading from parking and restricts many routes and stopping locations. Agree the legal waiting arrangement and return collection with the operator before issuing the group’s itinerary.

Choose transport for your New York City itinerary
