Dublin Airport: private coach pickup differs from set-down
Dublin Airport assigns Zone 16 to operators without a tendered scheduled-service stop. Its T2 Departures Road Inner is a passenger set-down area; pickup there requires airport permission. Ask for the actual coach meeting point and the route from your arrival terminal instead of following a scheduled bus operator’s bay information.
The airport directs longer coach waits to the Express Red Coach Layover facility. Share a lead-passenger contact and agree how the driver will be called once the group is ready. Include the airport charges and waiting terms in your Dublin airport-transfer request.
Set out the rest of the Ireland route
If the Dublin stay continues to Galway or Cork, provide the visit duration, overnight base and all luggage movements. Request the full Ireland itinerary together so vehicle use and driver scheduling can be assessed. A city hotel drop-off does not automatically include transport later that evening.
Dublin passenger stops and coach parking are different
Dublin City Council’s coach guide separates designated parking locations from stops used only for passenger collection and drop-off. It specifically describes Nassau Street as a passenger stop where parking is not permitted. Ask the operator to check the current signs and suitable location for your group’s actual visit.
Arrange the meeting point before the vehicle approaches, with enough time to assemble passengers and count the group. A short stop near an attraction does not include waiting there while you visit. For a Dublin sightseeing itinerary, agree where the coach waits, how the leader contacts the driver and whether the return collection uses the same location.
Convention Centre journeys need the event entrance and schedule
The Convention Centre Dublin’s directions give Spencer Dock, North Wall Quay, and identify the nearby Red Line Luas stops at Mayor Square and Spencer Dock. Use the event’s delegate entrance and registration time in your transport request, not only the general venue address or the start of the first session.
For conference group transport, distinguish passenger arrival from exhibitor deliveries and setup access. Send the hotel list, bags, equipment and accessibility needs, then ask the venue and operator to confirm a coach passenger stop and waiting plan. If the programme ends with an airport departure, list the flight and check-in requirement separately. A venue’s advertised journey time is not a reliable allowance for unloading, traffic, registration or a group airport connection.
